The Birds Go To Byron’s

Ok, off with our first post on Bird Talk.

So, recently I posted a question to my personal Facebook account, “You suddenly have a craving for a hotdog, where do you go?”. The replies I got comprise of the following places.

  • Home Depot

  • George’s

  • Weiner Circle

  • Byron’s

  • Red Hot Ranch

  • Jimmy’s

  • Super Dawg

  • Little Joe’s

Oh, I bet you’re asking yourself “Why the fuck are these woodworkers talking about food?” Well, everybody has to eat, right? Especially after the appetite you conjure up while working in the shop. And also, we like trying new places because variety is the spice of life. And maybe if we share our experiences, you might help you discover something new too. You may also notice that we’re not professional writers so, please, forgive, us, for, miss, using, a, comma, or, fifty.

Anyways back to hotdogs.

So with the list in place, it begins our hotdog tour and first stop is Byron’s and it was delicious. Byron’s has two locations, one just west of Ashland on Lawrence and one around the corner from the Bearded Lady Lounge. Now, if you’re a fan of Chicago Dogs Byron’s checks all boxes. It’s got that snap when you bite into it. It’s got all the classic Chicago dog fixing. It comes your Standard size, Jumbo, and my recommendation, the Dogzilla and fries! The fries are skinny fries, not shoestring, but skinny like McDonalds fries, which are fried to perfection—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Well, that’s about all I have to say today.
